Objectives for Ramadan 2018

My dear blog, how I have neglected thee!

Last year (wow, that sounds like a long time ago now) I vowed to keep updating this blog but so far I have not kept my promise in the slightest.

As Ramadan starts tomorrow, I thought it would be a good idea to do a Ramadan Blog series (hopefully this doesn’t turn out like the potty diaries series) I want to do something different everyday, maybe food related, charity related, day in the life of fasting etc.

Today, I wanted to note down my objectives for Ramadan.

  1. Praying – I went from praying five times a day since I was little, to barely praying at all. I need that to change and what better time to start than Ramadan.
  2. Don’t get angry – I get so angry, so quickly. Between my husband and my 3 year old, I literally want to tear my hair out sometimes. I want to control that anger this month and deal with situations in a more civilised manner.
  3. Drink more water – i don’t drink enough in the slightest so this is one objective I really would like to meet.

I am feeling a little nervous and a little excited. Ramadan is a time where I feel a lot closer to my religion and culture. Bring married to someone outside both of those things had changed me as a person and I want to make sure I am the best version of myself that I can be.

Wish me luck! Ramadan Mubarak to all those out there, participating.
