This month’s box was Halloween themed of course! I loved how they came out with 2 different boxes, both with slightly different products. I was hoping I would get the Treat Box and was happy when I ripped open the box! The design is actually beautiful and this is one box that I will keep on a shelf, due to how pretty it is! On to the products!
Illamasqua Antimatter Lipstick – Nebula £20
First up was the lipstick that everyone knew they were getting. The question was, did you get the pink or the purple one? I was PRAYING for the pink as I know I would never wear the purple and I jumped for joy as soon as I saw the little pink tube! I have to be honest, I haven’t had an opportunity to use it yet, but I swatched it and the colour was intense. It is a bright pink but because I have a medium skin tone it is a little toned down. I love it though, because it is just the type of pink I would wear. It is quite creamy but I haven’t tested the wear yet. The packaging is sleek and it looks beautiful.
MUA Luxe Strobe and Glow Highlighter Kit – Pearl Gold £5
I have never “strobed” before and I like a subtle highlight but I was happy to get this product. It looks stunning and the highlight is more than just subtle! I haven’t had an opportunity to use it yet, but for the moment it looks pretty on my make up table!
Luna by Luna Cosmetics – Translucent Powder £17
I was super excited to get a translucent powder as I have always wanted to try one out. Usually they are quite expensive! The packaging is lovely and the product is quite well contained. However, I tried to use it and I’m not sure if I did it right! I could barely get any powder out and when I did, I couldn’t really see that much difference on my face?
I am sure that this is because I am not applying it correctly so I will give it another go. I used the little powder puff that came with it but might use a powder brush next time!
This Works – Camera Close Up £17
I was intrigued to try this out. It’s a little deluxe mini of a primer/moisturiser. I have 10 minutes to get ready so cutting out having to use 2 different products and just to use one sounds like a great idea to me! I tried it out, it was really easy to apply. It felt quite nice on my skin and my make up applied nicely on it. However, I didn’t really find that it did anything in my photographs. They look the same and I don’t really think it was “photo perfect” Regardless, it’s a good moisturiser.
Sleek Makeup – Eyeshadow Palette – Oh So Special £8.99
I don’t like sleek make up anymore. I went through a phase of buying only the “au natural” palette because I loved the natural nude colours, however the pigment was never great and my eyeshadow normally would merge into one. I was not too pleased to get a Sleek palette this time but I thought I would give it a go. The colours did look good and this time I used a primer AND Morphe brushes to apply. I was actually quite pleased with the result! It stayed on during a 3 hour movie and didn’t blend badly together. I played it safe and only used the nude colours but I will absolutely use it again with the more bolder colours.
Whilst I haven’t used every single product, I am actually quite happy with what I received. 3 of the products I need to use again, to make sure I get the most out of them and the other 2 I am yet to try. The price of all the products together is £67.99 which is brilliant compared to the fact I paid £10 for the subscription!
FAVOURITE: The Illamasqua lipstick is my favourite product, even if I haven’t tried it yet!
LEAST FAVOURITE: I don’t think I have a least favourite. Maybe the “This Works” primer/moisturiser, simply because it didn’t really work for me in the way it claimed it would.
